Fox CT

Cone-beam and fan-beam CT reconstruction, analysis and reports.

Fox CT works from standard TIFF, PNG or raw projections plus a geometry file. It reconstructs the volume with FDK, FBP, CGLS or MLEM, shows it in slices and in 3D, measures porosity and wall thickness, looks for defects, and writes the report.

  • FDK

    FDK, FBP, CGLS and MLEM.

  • GPU

    GPU reconstruction with CPU fallback.

  • Porosity

    Porosity and wall-thickness analysis.

  • Export

PDF reports, STL mesh and 16-bit TIFF slices.

How a Scan Moves Through Fox CT

Fox CT takes the projections and geometry file a scanner has saved, or a saved project, and sends out reports, an STL mesh, 16-bit TIFF slices or the project itself.

  • Projections in

Projection images and the geometry file a scanner has saved, or a saved .fxct project.

  • 1 Reconstruction

Rebuilt into a volume with FDK, FBP, CGLS or MLEM, on the GPU or the CPU.

  • 2 Slices and 3D

Axial, coronal and sagittal slices, and the volume in 3D.

  • 3 Analysis

Porosity, wall thickness and dimensions measured, and defects searched for.

  • 4 Report

The measurements written into the report.

  • What comes out

PDF and HTML reports with the measurements as CSV, an STL mesh, 16-bit TIFF slices and the project itself.

02The Toolset

From Projections to a Report

Grouped the way a scan is worked through.

Reconstruction

Rebuild the volume from the projections and their geometry, on the GPU, with the CPU as the fallback.

  • FDK
  • FBP
  • CGLS
  • MLEM
  • Cone · fan · parallel
  • Ram-Lak · Shepp-Logan
  • Cosine · Hamming · Hann

Quad Viewer and 3D

Read the volume in three slice planes side by side, and as a 3D render next to them.

  • Axial
  • Coronal
  • Sagittal
  • Quad layout
  • Isosurface
  • Volume render

Porosity and Wall Thickness

Measure the pores inside the part, and map how thick its walls are in colour on every slice.

  • Porosity
  • Pore count
  • Wall-thickness map

Dimensions

Size up the part from the volume itself: its extents, its volume, and the sphere or cylinder that fits it best.

  • Extents X · Y · Z
  • Material volume
  • Best-fit sphere
  • Best-fit cylinder

Defect Search

Look for defects by geometry and threshold, and list each one with its size and position. Fox CT reports what it measured; the decision on the part stays with your inspector.

  • Geometric search
  • Threshold
  • Size and volume
  • Position X · Y · Z

Reports and Export

Write the report, and take the measurements, the surface and the slices out to other tools.

  • PDF report
  • HTML report
  • CSV measurements
  • STL mesh in mm
  • 16-bit TIFF slices
03How a Scan Runs

Load → Reconstruct → Report

The order an operator works in, from the saved projections to the report.

Load and set up

Open the folder of TIFF, PNG or raw projections with the scan's geometry file, then choose the method, the beam geometry and the filter.

Reconstruct

Build the volume on the GPU, or on the CPU when there is no GPU to use.

View

Step through the axial, coronal and sagittal slices and look at the part in 3D.

Analyse

Measure porosity, wall thickness and dimensions, and search for defects. What it finds is reported as measured.

Report

Export a PDF or HTML report, the measurements as CSV, an STL mesh or 16-bit TIFF slices.

04Platform

Built Around Your Scan Files

Fox CT reads the projection images your scanner writes, and the geometry that goes with them.

4

Reconstruction methods

FDK, FBP, CGLS and MLEM, for cone-beam, fan-beam and parallel geometry, on the GPU with a CPU fallback.

3

Projection formats

Works from standard TIFF, PNG or raw projections plus a geometry file.

3

Geometry files

The scan's geometry comes from a file in XML, JSON or text form, read from beside the projections.

5

Output formats

PDF and HTML reports, CSV measurements, a binary STL mesh in millimetres, and a 16-bit TIFF slice stack with its scale.

.fxct

Projects

The volume is kept in its own file beside a .fxct project, so a scan is saved, reopened and analysed again.

x64

Windows desktop

Runs on 64-bit Windows. It works on the files a scanner has saved and does not drive the scanner itself.
