Pinch
Zoom from fit-to-screen down to the pixel, and back, without hunting for a control.
The Workstation, In Your Hands.
Every tool the desktop build has, driven with your hands instead of a mouse — and a Pencil that does more than draw. Write in a report field and the handwriting becomes its typed value, so the paperwork is done before you climb back down.
Files
Studies opened from the iPad through Files.
Touch
Pinch, drag, tap and long-press, with 44 pt targets.
Measure
SNR, CNR, MTF, ROI statistics and wall thickness.
Pencil
Apple Pencil for annotations and notes.
The FoXpert analysis workspace, re-laid out for touch. Analysis only: it does not drive imaging hardware.
Nothing was cut to fit a tablet. It was re-laid out for one — the same tools, reached with your hands.
Zoom from fit-to-screen down to the pixel, and back, without hunting for a control.
Move the film under your finger. On a long weld that is most of the work.
Select an indication on the film or its row in the list — both ends stay linked.
Hold to open the tool sheet for whatever is under your finger, in place of a right-click.
Draw annotations and write notes. What the Pencil writes, the report keeps.
Three things the desktop layout traded for a touch layout:
Writing the same finding twice — once on the film, once in the form — is the part nobody wants. The Pencil does it once.
Tap a field in the report — specimen, client, location, remarks — and write in it with the Pencil. The handwriting becomes typed text in that field, so a form that was built for a keyboard stops needing one.
Scribble a note beside an indication and the text carries into the indication list, then out into the report row — no field to find, no retyping. The ink stays on the film as the annotation it already was.
Recognition proposes; the operator confirms before anything commits — the same rule the assisted detector follows. The ink stays on the film as an annotation either way, so the mark and the row never disagree.
FoXpert for iPad opens a study from the device or the shared cloud library, works through it in four panels, and sends the report out through the share sheet.
Into the iPad
Studies from Files or the shared cloud library, and notes by Apple Pencil or dictation.
1 Viewer
Look at the film.
2 Measure
Measure it.
3 Defects
Mark the indications.
4 Report
File the report.
Into the report
A PDF report out through the share sheet, with the defect table, measurements and DICOM metadata in it.
This is not a viewer with a few tools bolted on. The list below is the desktop build's, whole.
Mark up the film without touching pixel data, with the Pencil rather than a mouse. Every annotation carries into the report.
The quantitative case for the call — signal, contrast, resolution and wall thickness against a calibrated scale.
Condition the frame, or just the region you care about, and take it back off again. Fox Bleach is the adaptive local contrast lift — detail out of the bright and the dark at once.
The rest of the desktop rail, including the 3D surface — draw a region and read its intensity field as a surface, as the desktop does at 881 × 783 px sampled to 256 × 227.
Same analysis, three places to do it. The differences that matter are short.

In your hands
The short version of the requirements list.
The Pencil is not decoration here — annotation and handwriting both run through it.
Open what is already on the iPad through Files, and work it without a network.
The same shared study library FoXpert Web works out of, so a reviewer sees the same film.
The report leaves the iPad the way everything else does — mail, Files, or whatever your paperwork already uses.
Tell us the standard you work to and send a representative study, and we will set it up so your inspectors can try the whole loop on a tablet — film, marks, handwriting, report.
