Eddy Current Testing
Eddy-current signal analysis on the impedance plane, with I/Q strip charts.
Fox Eddy opens eddy-current data from CSV files and its own .foxeddy sessions, or starts on a clearly labelled synthetic training simulator, so no instrument is needed to try it. It shows each channel on the impedance plane with linked I/Q strip charts, groups threshold events into candidates for the analyst to review, and writes HTML and PDF reports, fully offline on current Windows.
CSV
CSV import and export.
Plane
Impedance plane with linked I/Q strip charts.
Review
Threshold candidates with analyst disposition.
Reports
HTML and PDF reports.
Fully offline, on current Windows, and no instrument is needed to try it: it starts on a clearly labelled synthetic training simulator.
Fox Eddy takes a CSV file, a saved .foxeddy session or its synthetic training simulator, and sends out an HTML or PDF report, a CSV export or a .foxeddy session.
Data in
A CSV file, a saved .foxeddy session or the synthetic training simulator.
1 Impedance plane
Each channel on the impedance plane, with linked I/Q strip charts that follow one cursor.
2 Gain and filters
Set the gain and filters.
3 Candidates
Threshold events grouped into candidates, each with an analyst disposition.
4 Report
The inspection details, the processing used and the indication records.
Data out
An HTML or PDF report, a CSV export, or a .foxeddy session that keeps the raw I/Q data.
Grouped the way an eddy-current recording is worked through.
Open a CSV file or a saved .foxeddy session, or start on the clearly labelled synthetic training simulator, so no instrument is needed to try it.
Read each channel on the impedance plane with linked I/Q strip charts: one cursor on both, moved with the mouse or the arrow keys, with zoom and peak selection.
Set the gain, phase rotation, balance and moving average of each channel, normalise the display to a reference point, and apply first-order high- and low-pass filters.
Group threshold events into candidates by amplitude, minimum duration and merge gap, stage them for review, and record the analyst's disposition and reasoning. The analyst decides what each one is.
Save and reopen sessions as .foxeddy files that keep the raw I/Q data with the analysis, checked with SHA-256 against accidental corruption, and replay a recording at 0.25× to 4×.
Write the report as HTML or PDF, with the inspection details, the processing used and the indication records, and export the raw data as CSV.
The order an analyst works in, from the data to the report.
Open a CSV file or a .foxeddy session, or start on the clearly labelled training simulator.
Set gain, phase rotation, balance and filters for each channel, and read it on the impedance plane and the strip chart.
Set the threshold, duration and gap, stage the candidates, and record a disposition and the reasoning for each.
Save the session, write the report as HTML or PDF, and export the raw data as CSV.
Fox Eddy keeps its data in documented files and runs without a network connection.
Opens its documented CSV format and .foxeddy sessions, up to 120,000 samples.
HTML and PDF reports, CSV export, and .foxeddy sessions.
A .foxeddy session keeps the raw I/Q records next to the analysis, with a SHA-256 check that detects accidental corruption.
Replays a recording at 0.25×, 0.5×, 1×, 2× or 4×.
A clearly labelled synthetic simulator with two channels, so it runs with no instrument attached.
Fully offline, on current Windows, as a 64-bit desktop app.
Tell us about your inspections and the data you work with, and we will show you Fox Eddy running.
